Democrats Celebrate Lilly Ledbetter Equal Pay Act by Proposing Fair Wage Legislation

Salt Lake City – Democratic Representatives Lynn Hemingway, Mark Wheatley, and Sandra Hollins are celebrating the seventh anniversary of the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act by unveiling 4 pieces of legislation that would increase wages and transparency in employment in the state. They issued the following joint statement:

“We are excited to be legislators who can make such a positive impact on all those seeking a fair chance to succeed in our state. These bills will make men and women’s lives better by providing wages that people can live and grow on, find jobs that will build people up and make our communities better. If we want to remain competitive with the rest of the country then we need competitive employment practices. Discrimination of any sort has no place in the Utah economy.”
