Election 2016 GOP Power Rankings – March 2015

We finally have one official candidate for president on the Republican side! Did it move the needle at all for the BetFair crowd regarding the Presidential Election 2016?

1. (1) Jeb Bush —— 3.05 (2-1)
2. (2) Scott Walker — 4.9 (4-1)
3. (3) Marco Rubio — 5.5 (9-2)
4. (4) Rand Paul —– 10 (9-1)
5. (8) Rick Perry —– 25 (24-1)
6. (6) Chris Christie — 26 (25-1)
7. (7) Ted Cruz ——- 27 (26-1)
7. (9) Mike Huckabee – 27 (26-1)
9. (9) Ben Carson —– 36 (35-1)
10. (-) Mike Pence — 40 (39-1)

If anyone else (besides Donald Trump) wants to get in this race, they need to either announce or at least drop some bigger hints. Compared to last month, only Bush, Walker and Rubio are tightening their odds. Rand Paul stayed dormant at 9-1 and everyone else slipped. Ted Cruz’s official announcement did nothing to move the needle.

Jeb Bush has been continuing a steady pace of fundraising, and he’s so far seems to be looking at New Hampshire and Florida for his success route. Scott Walker’s doing well in Iowa, ever so early, and a win there could catapult him.

Ted Cruz has positioned himself as the social conservative-populist. It instantly put Mike Huckabee, Rick Perry, Rick Santorum, and any other pretenders to that quadrant at a disadvantage.
