Election 2016 GOP Power Rankings – May 2015

The race for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination now has six official candidates, and some of the heaviest hitters have yet to make it official. Here’s how the race looks with the BetFair crowd.

1. (1) Jeb Bush —— 2.64 (13-8)
2. (3) Marco Rubio — 4.6 (7-2)
3. (2) Scott Walker — 5.1 (4-1)
4. (4) Rand Paul —– 12 (11-1)
5. (7) Mike Huckabee – 15 (14-1)
6. (9) Chris Christie — 28 (27-1)
7. (6) Ted Cruz ——- 30 (29-1)
8. (7) Rick Perry —– 30 (29-1)
9. (9) Ben Carson —– 32 (31-1)
10. (-) Carly Fiorina — 48 (47-1)

Next five: Mike Pence, Paul Ryan, Donald Trump, Bobby Jindal, Susana Martinez.

The BetFair site is one way to look at it. John Kasich and Lindsay Graham are still not listed as options, though both have shown heavy indications that they plan to run for president.

Another key poll came out last week from Quinnipiac for just the state of Iowa, and on that front, Scott Walker is doing the best, getting 21% of the votes. Marco Rubio and Rand Paul both received 13%, Ted Cruz got 12%, and Mike Huckabee got 11%.

(I also checked the Democrat side at BetFair, and it has Hillary Clinton at 1.29 (2-7). Second would be Colorado governor John Hickenlooper at 6 (5-1).
