With the designation of the Bears Ears National Monument, there has been a lot of false information put out concerning the area. Claims have been made by the environmental industry that the area is being over run by oil and gas companies and developers. The following video was created to show factual data that contradicts these fabricated claims.

The following video will cover the development of government lands in San Juan County, Utah since 1880 to present day. Also, the video will cover the mining and oil and gas history over the last 137 years.

The data was collected from the state of Utah’s AGRC (GIS Department) and the Bureau of Land Management as well as other federal agencies. This data illustrates the actual facts concerning the land use and history within the Bears Ears National Monument and San Juan County.
