Kathleen Bailey, a former Wall Street analyst and investment manager, has entered the race for Utah State Treasurer.
Bailey is the fifth to enter the race to replace current Utah State Treasurer, Richard Ellis, who stepped down, effective November 1, to take a position with the state’s non-profit college savings program. Merrill Cook, Neil Walter, Phil Conder, and David Damschen have previously announced their candidacies for the office.
Bailey earned an MBA from UCLA and worked in San Francisco as an equity analyst for two major investment banks.
The GOP’s State Central Committee will meet on Saturday, Nov. 21st to select three names to forward to Governor Gary Herbert for appointment to complete Ellis’ term.
