National Rifle Association Endorses
Utah Attorney General Sean Reyes

AG Reyes earns “A” rating for consistently supporting the NRA’s position on votes
of importance to gun owners and sportsmen.

SALT LAKE CITY—October 22, 2014Based on his support of and commitment to the Second Amendment, Attorney General Sean Reyes has earned an “A” rating and endorsement for reelection from the NRA-PVF in the 2014 general election. An “A” rating is reserved for a solidly pro-gun elected official who has consistently supported the NRA’s position on votes of importance to gun owners and sportsmen.

“We really appreciate General Reyes joining many of his colleagues from other states in signing the amicus (friend of the court) briefs challenging the gun control laws in Connecticut and New York enacted in 2013 in Shew v. Malloy and Nojay v. Cuomo respectively,” said Chuck Cunningham, director of State and Local Affairs at the National Rifle Association.

Reyes rejects the Obama-Bloomberg gun control agenda, which includes restrictions on transferring firearms between life-long friends and family members. Reyes also respects and supports hunting as a valuable tool for wildlife management and conservation.

Responding to this recent national endorsement, Reyes stated, “I appreciate the endorsement by the NRA, and look forward to continuing to work with them in support of our Second Amendment rights.”

“We can count on Sean Reyes to stand up for our constitutional freedoms in Utah,” added Cunningham. “We thank Sean Reyes for his steadfast support of the Second Amendment and urge all NRA members, gun owners and sportsmen in Utah to vote to reelect Attorney General Sean Reyes on November 4th.”
