Give me Libertarians or give me a merciful death

“There are two sides to every issue: one side is right and the other is wrong, but the middle is always evil.” —Ayn Rand Hello. My name is Harry, and I am thinking about voting for a Libertarian for president in November. Has it really come to this? My fellow Americans, strung out from an addiction of a toxic cocktail consisting of social media, identity politics and hair-trigger fragility, has forced me to consider what seemed impossible just one year ago. The Mero Moment: Purging the Crazies – July 23, 2015

Nearly all of my political time in Utah has been spent on the educational side of things – helping Utahns to better understand freedom. Little of my time has been spent on political parties. Democrats who can’t get elected in many locales run for office, out of necessity, as Republicans.…

Straw men, insults, and “libertarian losers”

Jeff Bezos has no doubt been having a lot of fun hiring columnists with highly divergent views and letting them duke it out on the editorial pages of The Washington Post. It’s a model that’s also been working very well at The League of Ordinary Gentlemen. Everyone loves a good Internet fight, and I remember participating in more than my share many years ago when the BlogHive was still a thing. With this in mind, I have no reservation about taking Harry Caines to task for his poorly-reasoned flamebait from…
