This Week in Presidential Polls – 5/10/16

Here’s a few things that have been bouncing around in my head as I look at presidential polls and observe the political landscape. 1. TRUMP COULD ACTUALLY WIN – It defies expectations how he got to this point, but now is the time for Democrats to not get cocky. This week’s Quinnipiac poll showed that it’s close between Trump and Clinton in three crucial swings states – Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania. In Florida, Clinton leads Trump by only 43%-42%. She leads with women 48-35, but he leads with men 49-36.…

Madness in the Polls?

Numerous polls tracking the 2016 Republican Presidential candidates are reporting an interesting phenomenon. After two televised debates and more media appearances than the Kardashians, Donald Trump still leads all candidates with his media-rich bluster, but Dr. Ben Carson has quietly slipped into a solid second. Carly Fiorina continues to gain ground after being allowed to play with the big kids. Interestingly, the other mainstream politicians in the race barely muster also-ran status as the race progresses. Utahns Dislike Trump, Would Still Elect Him Over Clinton

A recently released Utah Voter Poll showed that Utahns have a low opinion of Donald Trump, but they’d still vote for him 54-46 over Hillary Clinton. Trump has a net favorability rating of -51, but Clinton’s own net rating (-41) is also low and shows that most voters would rather vote for someone they don’t like from their own party than someone from the other party. Respondents identified as 55% Republican, 30% Democrat, and 15% as Independent or Other. For Utah’s senators, Mike Lee had a +3 rating (49-46) and…
