Married veterans find great success at Utah Valley University

Army veterans, Jackie and Chris Hobson, never expected to fall in love during their 15 month deployment to Iraq in 2007. Since getting out of the military, both individuals have been able to persevere and find their own success while pursuing their degrees at Utah Valley University. “We did things backward in life,” says Chris Hobson. “We got married, started having children right away, and went into business. Gov. Herbert: An Education Action Figure?

Today, Gov. Herbert held a press conference to address the concerns he has heard regarding public education and to present a plan of action.  The plan outlined three principles: Maintaining high academic standards in all subjects. Monitoring and limiting the federal government’s role in education. Preserving state and local control, including in curriculum, testing, and instructional practices.
