The Salt City Throwdown Podcast: A Conversation with Pat Bagley

On The Salt City Thowdown, we try to have a little touch of humor, even when we are discussing serious topics. In my opinion, however, no one does that in Utah quite like Pat Bagley. Pat has been doing political cartoons (and other artwork) for almost three decades. Though he works at The Salt Lake Tribune, his work has been syndicated, and published on national and international levels.

We spoke about his beginnings as a student at BYU, drawing for The Daily Universe (BYU’s student-run newspaper) to his thoughts on his work being published all around the world. He gave us a little background into the origin of “Legislator Guy”, (his iconic caracature of Legislators everywhere.), and on where is own political beliefs come from as well as the old school way he goes about drawing his cartoons.
