Youth Justice Awareness Month and Youth Advocates of the Year Ceremony

What: On Oct. 23, 2015, Gov. Gary Herbert has declared October as Youth
Justice Awareness month. In recognition of those who have worked to help
improve the juvenile justice system, the Utah Board of Juvenile Justice
(UBJJ) will host a ceremony on Oct. 27, 2015.
The event will recognize the work done by Sen. Aaron Osmond, Rep. V. Lowry
Snow, Sen. Daniel Thatcher, and Rep. Eric Hutchings during the 2015
legislative session to identify and address needed improvements in the
juvenile justice system.
The event will also acknowledge the leadership of Juvenile Court Judge C.
Dane Nolan and Juvenile Court Judge James R. Michie.
The event is organized in partnership with the Utah Division of Juvenile
Justice, Utah Juvenile Court, and the Utah Juvenile Defender Attorneys and
Resource Center.
When:
Tuesday Oct. 27, 2015 at 1:30 p.m.
Where:
Salt Lake Valley Detention Center
3450 South 900 West
Salt Lake City, UT
Time:
1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
(Program will start at 1:30 p.m. and award ceremony starts at 1:45 p.m.)
